LGBTQ+ Social Groups in Chester

Looking to meet new people, make friends or connect with the LGBTQ+ community? Chester Pride runs a range of social groups for adults, young people and families across Chester, Cheshire and North Wales. Whether you are looking for regular meetups, family activities or community spaces shaped around shared experiences, our groups provide welcoming ways to connect. In addition, each group supports different needs, so you can choose the space that feels right for you.

Out + About

LGBTQ+ social meetups for adults

Out and About is our general LGBTQ+ social group for adults aged 18 and over. Each month, the group meets in venues across Chester, so people can socialise, build friendships and become part of the local LGBTQ+ community.

Trans Social

For trans and non-binary adults

Trans Social is a welcoming community group for trans, non-binary and gender-diverse adults. Through monthly meetups, people can connect with others who share similar lived experiences in a supportive environment.

Rainbow Families

Activities and meetups for LGBTQ+ families

Rainbow Families brings together LGBTQ+ parents, carers and children through family-friendly activities, community outings and inclusive meetups across Cheshire and North Wales. As a result, families can build friendships while taking part in welcoming community activities.

Trans Youth Group

Support for young people and families

Created in partnership with Mermaids, our Trans Youth Group supports trans and gender-diverse young people. Alongside this, the group provides guidance and community support for parents and guardians.

Looking for More Ways to Get Involved?

Alongside our social groups, Chester Pride also delivers creative workshops, LGBTQ+ Speed Friending events and community projects throughout the year. Therefore, if a regular social group does not feel like the right starting point, there are other ways to meet people and get involved.

Creative Workshops

Regular sessions led by local queer artists covering activities such as crochet, knitting and creative writing.

LGBTQ+ Speed Friending

Structured social events designed to help LGBTQ+ people meet new people and build friendships in a relaxed setting.

Supported by the National Lottery Community Fund

Our social groups and community outreach activities are made possible thanks to support from the National Lottery Community Fund, helping us continue delivering accessible community activities across the region.
